Integrated Care Northamptonshire launches first shared Education Suite
St Andrew's Healthcare is pleased to host the Northamptonshire Education and Development Suite at its Northampton site, also linking with the Integrated Care Northamptonshire Careers Academy.
Ashley Knights, Head of Education and Professional / Practice Development at St Andrew's Healthcare said: "This is an important step in health and social care providers in Northamptonshire working together to provide system wide and collaborative educational and professional development opportunities for both staff, learners and aspiring candidates.
"Having this dedicated suite will enable us all to share expertise, wider learning and system wide opportunities. This approach will ensure we are able to develop health and social care professionals for contemporary practice."
The dedicated suite is available to system providers every Monday to Wednesday and is located on the Althorp Ward of the main St Andrew's Healthcare building in Billing Road, Northampton. The suite is due to open on the 20 November 2023.
Fiona Barnes, Director of Nursing at NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: "On behalf of Northamptonshire ICB can I thank Ashley and the team for the tremendous time, effort and commitment to have this education suite available for us all. The demand for this type of resource has been requested for many years across the system, and it is so exciting to finally be able to demonstrate that we have listened and provided this unique ‘learning environment’. Can I also thank NHS England for their funding, without which this exciting initiative would not have been possible."
