Integrated Care Northamptonshire is delighted to be able to share the refresh of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Local Transformation Plan for Northamptonshire 2022/23.

The plan evidences the challenges we face with continuing increased demand for services beyond pre-COVID levels, the increase in complexity of our children and young people’s health and care needs and the impact this has on our county’s workforce.

The plan presents the innovative ways in which Northamptonshire’s health and care services have responded to this demand collectively and how it aims to address emerging challenges to continue our commitment in mitigating the wider factors that contribute to poor mental health across our population.

Yvonne Higgins, Chief Nursing Officer for NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board, said: “The production of this plan represents the collaboration and co-production that has taken place across our Integrated Care System; bringing together the work of our local children’s mental health partners, both NHS and voluntary sector, Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, public health, education, youth justice, both local authorities and Acute Hospitals.

“In addition to this, we would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of our young people, public health and voluntary sector colleagues, who have translated this plan into youth and easy read versions that will ensure it is accessible and relevant.”
