The NHS in Northamptonshire has stood down the Critical Incident declared on Thursday 25 January 2024, but the system remains extremely busy.

Patients will be able to get treatment for seven common conditions at their high street pharmacy from today without needing to see a GP, as part of a major transformation in the way the NHS delivers care.

Following a procurement exercise a group of experienced GPs have come together to form a partnership to provide General Practice services to the registered patients of Earls Barton Medical Centre and Penvale Park Surgery from 1 April 2024.

The NHS in Northamptonshire has been managing on-going pressures since the start of January and today (25 January 2024) we have reached a point where we have taken the decision to declare a critical incident.
