Important information about Earls Barton and Penvale Medical Centre

Female GP talks to a male patient in her surgery room

Since July 2021, a caretaker practice has been providing General Practice services to patients while we undertook a procurement exercise to appoint a more long-term provider. We are delighted to be able to advise you that following this exercise Weavers Medical has been appointed and will be taking over the contract from 1st February 2023.

We would like to reassure you that you will still be able to access the full range of General Practice services you normally would, and services will continue to be delivered from the same locations.

Weavers Medical is a large forward-thinking practice in Kettering. The practice is focussed on patient care and believes in the traditional values of a family doctor. It takes a ‘whole person’ approach to healthcare to ensure a healthy mind as well as a healthy body.

Dr John McManus, Executive Partner at Weavers Medical said: “Everyone in the team is excited to help Earls Barton and Penvale practices to be the outstanding healthcare centres which we know they can be. There is such a lot of potential in the people working at the practices and we want to work alongside them to make these places where staff enjoy working and patients feel welcomed and cared for.

“Our aim is for patients to be extremely proud of their local practices and we will do all we can to make this happen.”

Northamptonshire ICB would like to thank Albany House for acting as a caretaker practice to registered patients at Earls Barton and Penvale practices while we worked to find a long-term provider. We are grateful for the service they have provided and for ensuring continuity of care to patients. Over the next few months we will be working with Albany House and Weavers Medical to ensure a smooth transition for patients and staff.

For those patients who would like to consider registering with an alternative practice in the area you are, of course, free to do that at any time. You can find information on local GP practices and the services they offer at www.nhs.uk.
