A new video from Integrated Care Northamptonshire is highlighting the fantastic work of Teen Clinic Daventry, a dedicated service supporting the health and wellbeing of young people in the local community.

Teen Clinic Daventry is for anyone aged 11 to 18 who lives or goes to school in the Daventry area. Monthly drop-in clinics are held in the town giving young people the opportunity to stop by and talk about any mental, physical and sexual health issues with the team of professionals from a range of disciplines.

Teen Clinic Daventry is supported by a number of local organisations, including Daventry Town Council, West Northamptonshire Council, NHFT, Service Six, Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, MIND and local GP practices, secondary schools and businesses.

Each session is staffed by a GP, a young people’s counsellor, a sexual health outreach worker, a school nurse and a youth support practitioner. This means that young people attending the clinic can see a number of different professionals during a single visit – so they get the best possible experience of integrated care with no need for appointments or waiting lists.

Young people have been heavily involved in setting up and developing the clinic, including establishing a wellbeing-related theme for each monthly session.

Based on feedback from young people, the Teen Clinic Daventry team are working to secure funding to operate the service on a more regular basis while guaranteeing its future for the longer term.
